The niostem device was well tolerated during testing, with no serious side effects reported. Minor adverse effects included an itchy scalp (pruritus; 9%) and mild headaches during the first 2–4 days after initial use (4.5%), which are also common with approved medications and laser caps (Adil et al. 2017). All effects resolved within one week.

The niostem device is designed to target those follicles that are dormant or miniaturized due to the condition of pattern baldness. Regardless of gender, biology works the same.

However, women tend to suffer from an array of different hair loss types, hence a correct diagnosis from a professional is essential.

Our clinical studies have shown that consistent, daily stimulation delivers the best hair growth and density improvements. To stay on track, we recommend using the device at least 6 out of 7 days per week.

The Gym Analogy Think of niostem like going to the gym:

• To see results: You need a regular "workout" for your hair follicles to build density and strength.
• Missing a day: Don't worry if you miss an occasional session; it won't negatively affect your long-term progress.
• Maintenance: Just like muscles, your hair needs ongoing support. You should continue using the wearable for as long as you wish to maintain your results and keep your hair healthy.

Looking ahead we are constantly testing our technology to explore maintenance protocols. In the future, we may be able to recommend a lower usage frequency and time once you have achieved your desired results and only need to maintain them.

For safety reasons, the app therefore limits the use of the device to 30 minutes per calendar day.

In general, the niostem device does not interfere with medications or other hair loss products and could be used in combination with them. Likewise, our clinical data show that niostem is highly effective as a standalone solution.

Superiority as a Standalone Technology: In niostem’s clinical trials (Jellard et al. 2025, J. Cosmet. Dermatol.; Chacón-Martínez et al. 2026, Dermatol. Ther.), the device alone was proven to be highly effective. In fact, our 2026 Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) showed results that are statistically superior to many published studies testing standard pharmacological products alone. 

Combining Treatments: While we do not yet have specific clinical data on combining niostem with other products, it is a well-known principle in the hair loss community that different approaches can sometimes have additive effects. We welcome users who choose to combine products to share their experiences with our community, as this helps us gather more data for future research.

Important: Transitioning from medications (e.g. Min/Fin/Dut): If you are currently using pharmacological products, please be aware of the "rebound effect." Stopping these medications often causes a significant increase in shedding and rapid hair loss that can last 1–4 months.

To ensure a successful transition to niostem, we recommend the following:

• Do NOT stop medications abruptly: We suggest continuing your current protocol when you begin your niostem journey.
• The 6–12 Month Rule: Wait until you have used niostem in combination with your medication for at least 6–12 months before considering any changes.
• Gradual Weaning: If you wish to stop medication, a slow weaning process over 3–6 months is recommended to minimize shedding.
• Alternative: Alternatively, stop your medication at least 6 months before starting the niostem journey, so your hair cycle can stabilize.

Note: We strongly recommend discussing any changes to prescription medications or medical approaches with your doctor for your specific situation.

We offer a standard warranty for the niostem device in accordance with EU regulations. The statutory warranty of 2 years covers all hardware defects that are deemed to have existed at the time of delivery.

No. During the active subscription phase, the device remains the legal property of Mane Biotech GmbH. Ownership transfers to you automatically and permanently only after your 14th and final monthly payment is successfully processed, or if you choose to exercise the Early Buyout Option.

The niostem wearable is specifically designed and clinically tested for males aged 18–55 experiencing early to mid-stage male pattern baldness (Norwood Scales 2–5). Our non-invasive technology uses low-level bioelectrical stimulation to reawaken dormant hair stem cells, effectively kickstarting the regrowth process at a cellular level without the use of medications.

It is not recommended for individuals experiencing late-stage hair loss (Norwood Scales 6-7) or other types of hair loss, including (but not limited to) scarring alopecia, autoimmune alopecia, or therapy-induced hair loss.

When you start your Lease-to-Own subscription, you will receive either a brand-new niostem device or a meticulously inspected, fully sanitized, and certified refurbished unit that looks and performs like new. Additionally, as outlined in our Terms of Service, if your device ever needs to be replaced under our Maintenance & Swap Service due to a manufacturing defect, the replacement unit provided to ensure your uninterrupted treatment will also be either a new or refurbished unit in equal or better condition.

Not at all! Once you complete your 14th payment and ownership of the device transfers to you, you retain full, free access to the niostem app's premium features.

Your first payment is simply your first month's installment of €89.00, which is charged at checkout. Like all online purchases, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. If you return the device within 14 days, this initial payment is refundable. However, please note that for hygienic and technical reasons, if the device has been used beyond a simple functionality test, we reserve the right to deduct a compensation fee for the loss of value before issuing the refund.

You will be billed automatically every month on the same date that your initial order was placed.

If a payment fails, we will reach out to you to resolve the issue. If the account remains in default after a reasonable grace period, we reserve the right to remotely suspend the functionality of the niostem device until the balance is settled. If an account is in default for more than two consecutive months, the contract may be terminated, the device must be returned, and outstanding balances may be sent to a certified debt collection agency.

Because this is a hardware lease agreement with a set 14-month path to ownership, we do not currently offer the ability to temporarily pause monthly payments.

Yes, the Lease-to-Own subscription has a mandatory minimum term of 6 months. If you decide to cancel before this 6-month period is over, your cancellation will take effect at the end of the 6th month, and your regular monthly payments will continue until that date.

After your 6-month minimum term has passed, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You can initiate a cancellation through your customer portal or via the cancellation link in our website's footer. Please note that because this is a hardware lease, your cancellation is only finalized—and payments stopped—once the device is successfully returned to us and passes our technical inspection.

Once you initiate a cancellation, our support team will provide you with return instructions. You must securely package the device (including all original components) and ship it to our technical service center in Cologne, Germany, at your own expense and risk. Be sure to include your Order Number inside the package!

We expect the device to show signs of normal, everyday use (normal wear and tear). However, if the device is returned with severe physical damage, water damage, or missing essential components, we reserve the right to charge you for the repair costs or the residual value of the device.
