Is it safe?

Yes! niostem is very safe.

Bioelectrical stimulation has been used in different applications since the 90s (neuromuscular, ophthalmological, nerve and other stimulation fields). To date no adverse effects have been reported.

Additionally, our device complies with European health, safety, and environmental protection standards (CE).

Are there side effects?

The niostem device was well tolerated during testing, with no serious side effects reported.

Minimal adverse effects included an itchy scalp (scalp pruritus; 9%) and slight headache in the first 2-4 days after the initial use (4.5%), which are also common with approved drugs and laser caps (Adil et al. 2017). All these effects disappeared after a week of use.

Does wearing the device change the cell structure in any way?

No, we do not change any cell structures. You can imagine it like jump starting your engine and then the engine continues to work and just requires occasional impulses to stay on. But we are not changing any property of your engine.

What kind of energy is it outputting to the scalp in terms of voltage or whatever metric is being used?

The niostem device utilises low level bio electrical stimulation to reactivate hair growth.

We refer to this energy as current and it’s of such level that the user doesn’t even feel it. We have worked on these approach for several years already to guarantee the best usability, comfort and hair growth outcome, so you shouldn’t worry about that, we took care of it.

It’s therefore not possible to alter the way niostem works and it used, so that we can guarantee it’ll work.

Type of hair loss

The device can be used by anyone with male pattern baldness, also known as common hair loss, which affects 90% of men and around 30% of women with hair loss.

We designed our wearable to be primarily used by people suffering from the early to mid-stages of male pattern baldness, because cells in this stage typically have better chances of being reactivated.

In cases of late-stage baldness, cells could be already dormant for too long, thus might have degenerated, impairing the functionality of the device.

The good news is that a human typically has >100.000 follicles thus chances are high that thousands are still active and susceptible for reactivation.

Norwood scale

niostem has been proven to work in a pilot study with for Norwood stages 2-5.

Does it work for women?

The niostem device is designed to target those follicles that are dormant or miniaturized due to the condition of pattern baldness. Regardless of gender, biology works the same.

However, women tend to suffer from an array of different hair loss types, hence a correct diagnosis from a professional is essential.

Additionally, we are currently running a clinical trial with women and are expecting results by the end of the year.

Am I the right age?

niostem was tested for ages 18 - 50 years old. We have started testing on older people and we’ll get results by the end of the year.

Can I use the device after hair transplantation

Yes, first testers reported very good results by combining both the niostem wearable post transplantation.

A combination of both solutions is a very powerful way to maximize hair in the shortest amount of time.

However, we are still lacking data on hair density post >2-3+ years, thus having a lot of unlocked potential.

How to pre-order?

You can pre-order the device by checking this link: https://niostem.com/products/niostem-pre-order

How much does it cost?

Right now we have a special discounted price available for pre-order for 990€ and by September our regular price is at 1290€.

When does shipping start?

Right now the line for pre-order is until October but that is still subject to change depending on the additional pre-orders we get on the coming months.

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship globally with UPS.

Is there a money back guarantee?

Do I need to use it everyday?

You can use the device, for as long as you wish to keep your hair, you will need to continue using the niostem device.

You can compare it to going to the gym. If you go often you will build muscles. But, if you stop going your muscles will slowly fade again. However, if you miss 1 day it is not a disaster.

Therefore, we recommend daily use, but we will continue to improve our product and further test it to recommend different (lower) frequencies of use in the future once results have been achieved and need to be maintained.

Can I do more than 30 minutes a day?

The device can only be used for 30 minutes, 1 session per day.

Can I share this with someone else?

The niostem device can certainly be shared with other people. However, it will still be limited to one session per day when paired with the app. Likewise, the log data will be personal.

Can i use the device and other hair growing products together?

The niostem device will not interfere with your medicines or other anti hair loss products.

In an in-house study, the niostem device was proven more effective than medicine when used alone. Therefore, combining solutions could be unnecessary because of the way it works through stem cell reactivation technology, as it's not essential to block the effects of DHT or increase blood flow to the hair follicle.

On the other hand, it is well known in the hair loss market that combinations of approaches can have additive effects.

Niostem has no data to date on combinations with the device.

We recommend you discuss any prescription medicine with your doctor for your specific situation.

Does the device come with a guarantee?

We are offering a 2-year warranty for our product, in accordance with EU regulations.

The legal warranty covers any hardware defects presumed to have existed at the time of delivery.

How it works?

The niostem device uses low-level electrical stimulation delivered through our unique wearable device to kick-start the hair stem cells back into progenitor cells that fuel the hair follicles and hair growth.

Our intelligent system ensures that an invisible network spreads across the upper scalp, generally affected by common hair loss.

How many years went behind the development of niostem?

Thank you for your interest in niostem. We have been developing our product for 9 years, of which 5 years were invested in basic research on stem cells and 4 years were invested into developing and engineering the device.

How is niostem different?

Niostem’s technology focuses on reawakening the dormant hair stem cells, thus targeting the core problem of male pattern baldness. Rather than employing light in our technology, we physically stimulate the stem cell through a gentle mechanical process. By doing this, we encourage the hair stem cells to convert into the progenitor stage, effectively kickstarting the regrowth process at a cellular level resulting in both thicker and more hairs growing. No drugs. No serious side effects.

Is there any other scientific evidence besides your study?

Thank you for your interest in niostem. There is indeed. We have obtained evidence in the lab in the petri dish. We also collaborated with Monasterium Laboratories (DE) who have validated our data with human hair follicles. Building on our trial, whereby testers used niostem, we are currently planning a further clinical validation study in Germany to further strengthen our data.

What is the reason behind male pattern baldness?

Normally, we all lose 100 hairs per day. This is the natural hair regeneration process. A by-product of testosterone, called dihydrotestosterone, causes your hair follicles to miniaturize over time which makes you lose hair.

What to expect?

Based on niostem pilot results, 95.4% of participants stopped their hair loss after 3 months 86.3% of them showed hair regrowth with an increase in hair shaft density (mean increase of 12% compared to baseline).

That means, during the first 12 weeks most people can expect to stop hair loss and visually see less fallen hair on the pillow, blankets, bathroom sink, etc.

After 12 – 24 weeks, most people see by themselves the first signs of regrowth in both hair density and hair thickness.

Beyond 24 weeks: 100% of participants stopped their hair loss, and 100% showed hair regrowth. The increase in hair shaft density (19.3% mean increase) and 9% increase in hair thickness.

How long will it take to see the results?

You can expect to see increased results of regrowth and recovery on bald areas where the hair follicles were previously miniaturized.

Please note: Individual results may vary depending on the degree of your hair loss, health, age, hair type, nutrition or other medical conditions present.

When will the clinical trial be published?

By the end of the year we will be finished with the results and will be published around Q1 of 2025.

How long do i need to use myniostem device once i have achieved my hairg rowth goals?

For as long as you wish to keep your hair healthy, you will need to continue using the niostem wearable, because the leading cause of hair loss, DHT, will still be present in your body.

We recommend daily use, but we will continue to test and improve our product, and work on reducing the frequency of usage once our customers' hair growth goals have been achieved. This should work very much like a teeth retainer to keep teeth aligned after a standard orthodontic procedure.

Does niostem only work on the areas where the electrodes are placed?

No, by having 11 interconnected electrodes we create an invisible network on the scalp thus targeting uniformly DHT-sensitive areas on the upper scalp.
